Mohammed Tawfik: Co-Founder & CEO of Xboost
Mohammed is a current Ph.d. student at Rutgers Biomedical Sciences & NJIT joint program in Biomedical Engineering where he is currently conducting research in biomechanics and robotics. Prior to that he earned his MS & BS in Aerospace engineering at Cairo University in Egypt. He hopes to combine emerging areas and technologies into creating impact for society. In his free time when he isn’t working, Mohammed loves to play video games, workout & attend hackathons
Sanjit Singh: Co-Founder & CTO of Xboost
Sanjit is a rising undergraduate senior in Computer Science. He is a passionate, all-rounder computer engineer who is very enthusiastic about cutting edge research areas, entrepreneurship & technology. His area of interests are in 3D Computer Graphics, VR/AR, Computer Vision, Robotics, Haptics & Medical Devices. He hopes to bridge the gaps of the latest groundbreaking 3D interactive technologies into areas of healthcare, military & education. In his free time, Sanjit loves to attend hackathons, play video games, workout & watch superhero movies.
Dr. Xianlian (Alex) Zhou: Chief Scientific Officer & Academic/Board Advisor at Xboost
Dr. Zhou is an Associate Professor and Director of the BioDynamics Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). His research focuses on computational biomechanics, human modeling and simulation, robotics, injury prevention, and personalized medicine. Before joining NJIT, Dr. Zhou worked at CFD Research Corporation for over 10 years, where he was a principal research scientist and manager of the Human Performance and Biodynamics group. In the past, Dr. Zhou have developed advanced computational models to simulate and analyze in vivo biomechanical forces on tissues, including muscles, bones, discs, lung, vessels and neurons, under injury and disease conditions such as blast, blunt, and shock impacts. He also helped to evaluate different protective or performance enhancement systems for warfighters such as advanced helmet and body armor systems and wearable assistive devices such as exoskeletons. His work has been used by the U.S. Department of Defense organizations such as the Army Public Health Center, U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, and the Naval Air Systems Command. He has earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa.
Dr Tran Tu Huynh: An experienced surgeon, Biomedical engineer & Entrepreneur
Dr. Huynh is an Industry Mentor, Chief Medical Officer & Board Advisor at Xboost. Dr. Huynh has contributed to innovations in Tissue Engineering, NanoTechnology, Radiofrequency ablation, Biophotonics, and DNA sequencing technology for many years. She is also the founder and president of a medical technology startup known as OpticSurg, where they develop Mixed Reality solutions for doctors to use in the operating rooms. Alongside, she is also a business mentor for New Jersey Institute of Technology, NYC Economics department corporations, Indiana University & Co-chair of the VR/AR association health committee.
